Chicopee - Donald James Hussey, 91, passed away Tuesday at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Springfield to the late John and Alexina (Boulerice) Hussey. He lived most of his life in West Springfield and later moved to New Port Richey, FL and finally settled in Chicopee. He worked in the accounting division of the Springfield Armory for years and after its closing he worked at the Springfield Bulk Mail Center until his retirement in 1988. Don was a graduate of W. Spfld. High School. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran serving with the Seabees in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was formerly a communicant of St. Thomas Church and the Knights of Columbus in W. Spfld. Don was an avid golfer and had a hole in one on the 3rd hole at Tekoa Country Club. He leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Sandra L. (Pederzani) Hussey. He was the beloved father of Deborah Lamoureux and her husband Marc of Chicopee and James Hussey and his wife Dianna of Belchertown, devoted grandfather of Matthew Fenn, Megan Fenn, Alton Moore, Shelbi Moore, Garret Hussey and Madisson Hussey, great-grandfather of Chase Dansereau, caring brother of Janet Lachapelle of Southwick. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his siblings, William Hussey, Doris Sharp and Claire Stevens. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the amazing staff at Bay State Medical Center Springfield 3, and Care One At Redstone. The funeral will be Tuesday, 9AM at the TOOMEY-O�BRIEN Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., W. Spfld., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Thomas Church, with an 11AM Committal Service at the Massachusetts Veterans� Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
