Dorothy A. Collette

On Wednesday, Oct 21, 2015 Dorothy A (Stevens) Collette, passed with her loving family by her side. Dorothy was born on September 12, 1929 in New York City. She was raised in �Hell�s Kitchen� until she moved to Springfield in the 1960�s and made her home in West Springfield settling there until her death. Dorothy worked in the West Springfield High School cafeteria and as a crossing guard for the town. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Aux. VFW Post #6714 and past President. She was the beloved widow of Albert H. Collette, Sr. who passed in December of 1998, loving mother of Albert H. �Buzzy� Collette, Jr. and his companion Donna Guidetti of West Springfield, Allison Collette and her companion Michael Sweeney of Westfield, George H. �Chipper� Collette and his wife Maura of West Springfield, Deborah Cafaro and William Cafaro and his wife Denise all of New Jersey, and the beloved grandmother of 9. The wake be Monday from 4-7pm at the Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home,1043 Westfield Street, West Spfld. All funeral services and the burial at the Massachusetts Veterans� Memorial Cemetery are private. In lieu of flowers donations in Dorothy�s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
