Obituary
Dorothy A. (LeClerc) Smith, 98, passed away October 21, 2022. She was born in Springfield, November 12, 1923, to the late Adolph and Anna (Gokey) LeClerc. Dorothy was a graduate of Commerce High School and worked at Baystate Medical Center in the Dietary Department for 20 years. She also worked in Dog obedience training for 20 years. She was a former communicant of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield and a Eucharist Minister at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick and was an avid ballroom dancer. Her beloved husband, Clarence R. Smith Jr. died in 1989. She leaves her loving children, Richard R. and his wife Jackie of Athol, Christine M. Lamoureux and her husband Leon Jr. of West Springfield and Robert M. Smith of Brookline, NH, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Dorothy’s daughter, Darlene A. Fanos passed away a few days after her. She was predeceased by her grandson, Jimmy who died in 2007. The funeral mass will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 11:30AM from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 405 Boston Rd., Springfield with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery to follow. Calling hours will be at the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield prior to the mass from 8-10:30AM.
