Dorothy A. (Shea) Barton

Boca Raton- Dorothy Ann (Shea) Barton, 80, passed away Monday at the Menorah House in Boca Raton, FL. She was born in Springfield to the late Lillian (McCool) and Joseph Shea. Dorothy was a graduate of the former Springfield Technical High School and the Gaugh School of Business. She lived in Springfield and West Springfield before settling in Boca Raton. Dorothy was a proud US Navy Veteran and served during the Korean War. She worked in the Safe Deposit Department of the former Third National Bank for years. Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard L. Barton in 2013 and by two of her children, Scot Barton and Deborah Ekstowicz. She leaves her loving sons, Richard J. Barton and his wife Patricia of PA and Craig A. Barton of West Springfield and his former wife, Darlene Barton, her adored grandchildren, Matthew Ekstowicz and Caren, Robin and Kelsey Barton, and her son-in-law, Robert Ekstowicz. The funeral will be 8:30AM Wednesday at the TOOMEY-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St., W. Spfld., followed by a 9:30AM Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Thomas Church, 65 Pine St. The burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-6PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
