Obituary
Edith “Toni” (Storey) Dutkiewicz, 92, passed away peacefully at her home on February 4, 2022. She was a lifetime resident of West Springfield and the last surviving member of her family generation. Toni started her work at the Farmer’s Exchange in 1946. She moved on to West Springfield High School where she served as Attendant Clerk for federal and state grants and then Secretary to Principal Robert Shields. She completed her career by serving 31 years at the West Springfield School Department. Toni had a strong, hard-working, compassionate core as witnessed by the care, sacrifice and counsel she provided family and friends. Giving and appreciation were always high on her list despite life’s challenges. Toni was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years Raymond, her son Robert, her parents Thomas and Eva Storey, brother John Storey, sister Ilene Mattson, and great grandsons Roman Thomas and Hamid Robert Dutkiewicz. Toni is survived by son Thomas and wife Debra Dutkiewicz, grandson Toby and wife Annie, grandson Adam and partner Karissa, granddaughter Kate and her husband Aaron Punska, and granddaughter Rebekah, partner Val Driscoll and former husband Jack Brown. Seven great grandchildren from this family branch include; Priya and Arlo Dutkiewicz, Rosa and Lyda Punska, and Amos, Frankie, and Esme Brown. Toni is also survived by her daughter-in-law Laura Dutkiewicz, step grandchildren; Deborah and her husband Mark Blom, Daniel and his wife Brenda Ewings, and Sandy and husband Sean Carey. Seven step great grandchildren include; David, Brandon, and Kristopher Blom, Jacob and Zachary Ewings, and Hannah and Christian Carey. Also left behind are three great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and close neighbors and friends. While there are no calling hours, there will be a Funeral Mass Wednesday, February 9, 11:30 am at St. Thomas Church in West Springfield. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. Toomey-O’Brien Funeral has been entrusted with all arrangements.
