Obituary
Edward E. Dessereau, 73, passed away Sunday August 22, 2021. He was born in Pittsfield on April 27, 1948 to Dolores (Holmberg) and the late John Dessereau and graduated from Pittsfield High School, Class of 1966. Ed proudly served in the US Navy. He worked for many years as the manager of the Friendly’s in East Longmeadow and the former Friendly’s on Westfield St., in West Springfield. An avid reader, he also enjoyed golfing, gardening and cooking. Besides his mom Dolores Dessereau of Dalton, he leaves his wife Ann-Marie Dessereau of Westfield, his son Matt Desserreau and his wife Alicia of Springfield, his brothers; Michael of Pittsfield and James of Westfield along with several extended family members and friends. Ed was also predeceased by his brother Stephen Dessereau. A Memorial Service will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Ed’s name to the Dakine Humane Society, P.O. Box 6307, Spfld, MA 01101-6307. The Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
