Edward R. Fitzgerald

East Longmeadow � Edward R. Fitzgerald, 72, passed away peacefully on Friday at East Longmeadow Wingate Nursing Home. He was born September 8, 1943 to the late Daniel Fitzgerald and Marjorie (Michalek) Fitzgerald Calvanese in West Springfield. Edward graduated from West Springfield Schools and was a truck driver in the transportation industry. He is survived by his cousin, guardian, and care-taker for many years Bonnielea Stebbins of West Willington, CT. Edward also leaves cousins Geraldine Schilling-Nordal (Reidar Nordal) of Agawam, Dorothy Maggio of Enfield, CT, Sr. Judith Fitzgerald of Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield and several cousins in CT, MA and FL. Edward leaves 6 children and 18 grandchildren. His guardian would like to thank St. Lukes Rest Home of Splfd and the caregivers of Wingate of East Longmeadow and Life Choice/Compassus Hospice Care for their years of care. The funeral for Edward will be Thursday at 9AM at TOOMEY-O�BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine Street, West Springfield. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery in West Springfield.
