West Springfield- Eleanor M. (Rossetti) Doyle, 84, passed away Thursday April 7, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family and close friends. She was born in Boston, March 4, 1932, the daughter of the late Georgio and Concettina (Scarpino) Rossetti. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant for the Springfield Redevelopment Authority. Eleanor was a communicant of the former St Ann�s Church and had a reputation as being the best cook in West Springfield. Ellie loved being a wife to Pat, and mother to Sean, and an extra mother to many of his friends; to everyone else, she was known as �Auntie Ellie�. Aside from loving her family, and feeding anyone who would allow her, Ellie was an avid New England sports fan. She enjoyed gardening, entertaining and lived for the holidays. She had an enchanting soul, made friends effortlessly, and left a lasting memory with whomever she came in contact. She had a sense of humor and sharp, infectious wit about her. Ellie was an accepting confidant, who made time for everyone. She had uncommon passion, devotion and character, and will truly be missed by all. She leaves her loving husband of 44 years, Patrick J. Doyle, her beloved son, Sean P. Doyle and his wife Ruth Sullivan of Ridgewood, NY, her caring sister, Connie Nutting of Agawam and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Nicholas and Albert �Boots� and sisters Louise and Mary. There will be a Funeral Home Service Wednesday at 11am from the Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield. The burial will follow at St. Michael�s Cemetery in Springfield.
