West Springfield –Elizabeth “Mickey” Greene, 81, passed away peacefully on February 7 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born January 12, 1943 to the late Robert and Barbara (Hubert) Greene in Springfield, she moved to West Springfield as a child and lived her whole life here. Mickey earned her nursing degree from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing located in Worcester, MA, and proudly served as a registered nurse at Baystate Medical Center for 45 years. She was a loving, caring and compassionate Mother, Grandmother and Friend. She enjoyed crocheting and other crafts in her leisure time and enjoyed traveling, especially to Maine. Mickey was predeceased by her parents Robert and Barbara, and her grand-daughter Barbara Denno; she is survived by her daughters: Janice A. (Laliberte) Champagne and her husband Peter; and Jean (Laliberte) Ramsey, all of West Springfield; her granddaughters Jenna and Jessica Champagne, and Laura and Carry Denno, as well as several great-grandchildren; and her devoted and loving companion, Edward A. Reed, and lifelong friend of 80 years Suzanne LaFond, who most people know as Mickey’s “sister”. Private services were entrusted to TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME.
