Erick P. Feuerstein

October 25, 1966 — January 17, 2025

Feeding Hills- Erick Peter Feuerstein, 58, of Tanglewood Lane passed away Thursday. He was born in Springfield, graduated from Putnam High School and has lived in Agawam since 2005. He worked at his family businesses, Cinema Pizza and James Tropical Fish, for over 20 years and as a gas service technician for Holyoke Gas and Electric for over 10 years. He was a dearly loved member of the Pioneer Valley Church of Christ for over 25 years. Erick was best known for being an avid fisherman, favoring East Beach in Rhode Island as well as Gloucester. He often took his friends on fishing trips and shared his passion for the sport with many. His connection with God often involved time in nature. He was passionate about photographing wildlife and flowers and was well known for posting his “Flower of the Day” which many enjoyed. He loved snorkeling at Tobacco Bay in Bermuda where he and his wife spent many vacations. His love of nature often led him to find small creatures such as snakes, turtles, and butterflies. Erick was highly intelligent and could speak deeply to many topics. He could fix anything and often had many projects around the yard, including his beloved garden beds where he grew giant sunflowers and vegetables. Erick was always very hospitable, enjoying summer bonfires and pool parties. Erick was a kind and gentle person, known for his patient and loving demeanor. He deeply loved his family and will forever be missed, Eva believed he was the best dad in the world. He was the beloved husband of 19 years to Maria R. (Cattalinic) Feuerstein, loving father of Eva V. Feuerstein, devoted son of Elaine (Szpakowski) and Klaus Feuerstein, caring brother of Derrick P. Feuerstein and his husband, Anatoliy Solnyshkin, nephew of Helmut A. and June Feuerstein, Jeffrey Feuerstein, and Stanley Szpakowski, Jr. and he also leaves many cousins. Erick was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Helmut P. and Gertrude Feuerstein, his maternal grandparents, Stanley J. and Viola Szpakowski, and his aunts, Alice Herder, Marilyn Szpakowski, and Constance Feuerstein. There will be Calling Hours Tuesday (1/28) from 4:00-6:30 pm at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. There will be a Memorial Prayer Service after the Calling Hours at 6:30 pm. The burial will take place on Wednesday (1/29) at 11:30 am at the Agawam Center Cemetery, 820 Main Street, Agawam.
