Ernest A. White

Ernest Armand White, 92, passed away Tuesday at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Easthampton to the late Elphesnia and Felix White. Ernest grew up in Chicopee and lived most of his life in West Springfield until recently moving to East Longmeadow. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Ernest was an inspector for the former Uniroyal of Chicopee. He was a communicant of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini in West Springfield. Ernest was an avid outdoorsman, loving fishing and hunting. He was a sport enthusiast and closely followed all the local teams, especially the Falcons. Ernest was an ardent supporter of the Majestic Theatre. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Irene (Clark) White and his son, Dr. Richard White. Ernest leaves his loving children son, Paul L. White of Longmeadow, Cynthia I. Stewart of Norfolk, MA,�Ginny White of Springfield,�9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday 9AM at the TOOMEY-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St. W. Spfld., followed by a 10AM Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, 495 Main Street. The burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 5-7PM.
