Ethel M. (Depiper) Schortmann

West Springfield, Ethel M. (DePiper) Schortmann, 94, passed away October 23, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hoboken, NJ, November 30, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Slaven) DePiper. She grew up in Staten Island and married Walter E. Schortmann on October 9, 1943. Ethel worked at Noble Hospital for many years. She was predeceased by her husband Walter and her son Stephen. She leaves her beloved children, Walter and his wife Carolyn, Janice Wood and her husband Donald and Carl and his wife Patricia, her daughter in law, Nancy, her 5 loving grandchildren and 8 beloved great-grandchildren. All services are private and the Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
