Obituary
Francis J. Maloney, 89, passed away September 24, 2022, at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Born and raised in Springfield, he was the son of the late James and Ethel (McMahon) Maloney. He attended local schools, graduating from Cathedral High School in 1950. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed as an electrician for the Springfield Newspapers for 48 years retiring in 1998. His beloved wife, Eula M (Daigle) Maloney, the love of his life, passed away in 2021. He leaves his beloved sons, Allen and his wife Joanne of Harwichport and Robert of Holyoke, his beloved daughter, Patricia Turschman and her husband Gary of Ludlow, his cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Patrick, Mathew, Tyler and Dylan, his loving great grandchildren, Rylee, Austin, Camden, Ella and Karson, his loving sister. He was predeceased by two brothers, James and wife Jean, Charles and survived by wife Eleanor and two sisters, Barbara Veto and husband George and Christine Howlett. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews. At Francis’s and the family’s request a private service will be held at the Mass Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. The Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers and memory gifts the family requests you make a donation to your favorite charity in Francis’s name.
