Obituary
It is with sad hearts and warm memories that we announce the passing of Frank Joseph Borgatti, an amazing man of great faith and a giant heart who gave so much love to this world. One of his finest qualities was his willingness to always help anyone. He was 72 years old and passed away Thursday at home. He was born in Springfield on January 12, 1949 to the late Joseph and Helen (Johnson) Borgatti. He grew up in Agawam and was a graduate of Agawam High School. He lived there most of his life before settling later in Wilbraham and Westfield. He worked for years as a construction worker and was a member of Laborers International Union, Local #999. He retired in 2000 from Adams and Ruxton Construction Co. in West Springfield. Frank enjoyed his gardens of roses and tomatoes. He loved hummingbirds and was always feeding animals and birds. He always looked forward to his Cape Cod and Maine vacations. He also coached in Agawam when he was young. A beautiful life well lived. He leaves the love of his life, Patricia Cavanaugh. He was the beloved father of Kevin Borgatti of AZ, Monica Borgatti of West Springfield, Scott Capponalli of Agawam, and Danny Cavanaugh and his wife Teresa of West Springfield, devoted grandfather of Brandin and Meaghin Borgatti, Nicole Capponalli, and Tiffany Cavanaugh, and caring brother of Joseph Borgatti of VT, Robert Borgatti of Huntington, MA, and the late James Borgatti. There will be a Funeral Mass Tuesday 10 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Springfield followed by a burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Chicopee. Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements. Donations in Frank’s name may be made to the American Lung Association of Western Mass., 393 Maple Street, Springfield, MA 01105.
