Gail P. Dunham, 82, died peacefully after a short illness on December 21, 2025, at the Jewish Geriatric Center in Longmeadow, MA, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, MA on July 3rd, 1943, to Joseph Gazar and Eleanor Gazar, Gail was raised in Agawam and graduated from Agawam High School in 1962. She was a parishioner of St Thomas Church in West Springfield. After graduation, she worked at Eastern Farmers Exchange in West Springfield. In 1963, she met the love of her life, Warren Dunham, in West Springfield. In 1964 they were married at St Thomas Church. In 1972, they purchased their home on Adrian Avenue where they raised their three children. In 1994, Gail went back to work at So Fro Fabrics (later Joann Fabrics) after being a stay-at-home mom. She worked at Joann's for 20 years and retired in 2014. Gail had many hobbies that she enjoyed including reading, sewing, knitting, cross stitch, and bowling on Thursday nights at West Springfield lanes. She also loved traveling on cruises, visiting Cape Cod, music, and spending time with family. Gail is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Eleanor Gazar, her in-laws Warren and Edith Dunham, her sisters Joyce Weibel and Leann Kellerman, her best friend Diann Gazar, and her sister-in-law Barbara Griffin. Gail leaves behind her husband Warren Dunham, her children Michele Baez of West Springfield, Mark Dunham and his wife Geri Knak of Feeding Hills, Megan Piarulli and her husband Luigi Piarulli of Dudley. She also leaves her grandchildren Robyn, Alison, Jessica, Kathleen, Michael, Luciana, and Amilia; and great-grandchildren Jade, Ivy, Jason, Jacob, Weston, Audrina, and Giavanna. Additionally, she leaves her brother Joseph Gazar as well as many brothers- and sisters-in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Gail’s funeral mass will be Tuesday December 30, 2025, at 11:30AM at St Thomas Church with burial to follow in the Mass Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Calling hours are Monday December 29, 2025 from 4-7PM at the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St West Springfield. The family would like to thank the staff at C2 and Baystate Hospice for everything they had done to keep Gail comfortable during her stay at the Jewish Geriatric Center. Donations can be made in Gail's name to St. Jude Memorial Foundation.
