George S. Anamisis “Little George the Chef” passed away at 90 on Friday, January 10, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Greece on July14, 1929 to the late Stelios and Kaliope (Stefanias) Anamisis. He lived his early years in Greece and has lived most of his life in West Springfield. He owned and operated Little George’s Restaurant in West Springfield for 29 years. He also was an active real estate professional. He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Springfield. He was the beloved husband of 51 years to Katerina(Gellis) Anamisis, loving father of Angelo Anamisis, Steven Anamisis and his wife Vanessa of Salem, NH, Stephanos Anamisis and his wife Katherine of Orlando, FL, and Antonio Anamisis and his wife Anastasia of Tenafly, NJ, devoted grandfather of 11, and also leaves several nieces and nephews. All funeral arrangements are private and have been entrusted to Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s name may be made to the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 22 St. George Road, Springfield, MA 01104.
