George Albert DuBois, 81, passed away Monday, November 3, surrounded by his loving family at Wingate of West Springfield. A lifelong resident of West Springfield, he was the son of the late Irene (Griffin) and George DuBois. He was a graduate of West Springfield High School, and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a self-employed contractor for New England Telephone. George was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Springfield. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #2212, and enjoyed their weekly card games. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, and his daily crossword puzzles. His life was filled with laughter, and wonderful memories. He was predeceased by his first wife Marguerite (Goodfellow) DuBois in 2007. George leaves his beloved wife, Virginia E. (Desmarais) DuBois, his loving children, Michael J. DuBois and his wife Mary of West Springfield and Lori A. O�Neil Gaw and her husband David of West Springfield, stepdaughter, Deborah A. Ferriter and her husband Jack of Holyoke, stepson, Michael Desmarais and his wife MaryEllen of West Springfield, and his much loved grandchildren, Michelle Swajanen and her husband Jeff, David and Dianne DuBois, Michael George and Ian O�Neil, Derek and Dillon Desmarais, Sean and Ryan Ferriter. George also leaves his brother, Arthur DuBois and his wife Marie, his sisters, Irene DellaGuistina and Betty DuBois and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Richard DuBois. The funeral will be 9AM Saturday at the TOOMEY-O�BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St. W. Spfld., followed by a 10AM Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine Street. The burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7PM.
