Gino G Delbuono

Gino G DelBuono, 89, passed away May 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in West Springfield, December 29, 1935, he was the son of the late Nicola and Concetta (Silvano) DelBuono. Gino was a proud 35 year firefighter for the city of West Springfield, retiring in 2000. He was also a longtime barber at Nick’s Barber Shop. Gino was a US Navy veteran, a communicant of St Thomas Church and was an avid deer hunter and antique car enthusiast. Gino affectionally called “Paco” by his daughter Dina, touched the hearts of everyone he met. He will be remembered for his chivalrous demeanor, contagious smile and willingness to help anyone in need. He leaves his beloved wife of 64 years, Mabel (Queiros) DelBuono, his loving daughter, Dina Winkler and her husband Richard of Chicopee and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Domenic and Angelo DelBuono and Mary Ditomaso. All services are private and the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family would like to thank his care givers over the past 3 years, Betsaida Perez, Teresa Harris, Sam Wallace, Yvette Sanders and Christina Sanders. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the West Springfield Fire Department 44 Van Deen Ave West Springfield, MA 01089.
