Henry Joseph Ouimette, 87, of Almon Avenue passed away peacefully Wednesday at home. He was born in Springfield on March 19, 1936 to the late Frances (Dalto) and Henry Ouimette. He lived all of his life in West Springfield and was a graduate of West Springfield High School Class of 1955. He was the founder and former owner of Ouimette Printing in West Springfield. He retired in 1998. Henry proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War. He was a longtime member and former Board Member of the Dante Club and he was one of the founders of the Exposition Area Scholarship Fund. Henry was a Charter member of the West Springfield UNICO Club, a member of the Deadline Gang and a longtime member of Springfield Country Club where he enjoyed years of card playing with his good friends. Henry also loved playing racquetball and golf. He was married 67 years to his high school sweetheart, Teresa A. (Piccin) Ouimette. He was the loving father of Steve Ouimette and his wife Mylene of Rockville, MD, David Ouimette and his wife Christine of Easthampton, and Timothy Ouimette and his wife Katherine of Tuscon, AZ, beloved grandfather of Chloe, Greta, Lauren, Kara, , Kevin (Kim), and Joelle, and he also leaves several nieces and nephews. The calling hours are Sunday from 4-7 pm at the TOOMEY-OBRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. The funeral will be Monday 10:45 am at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:45 am at Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. There will be a Committal Service at 1 pm at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
