Herbert R. Prella

West Springfield, Herbert R. Prella, 90, passed away Saturday August 20, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Dortmund, Germany, he was the son of the late Gustav and Frieda (Kube) Prella. Herbert grew up in Germany and came to West Springfield in 1952. Herbert attended AIC and received his degree in Business and American History. He received his plumbers license and pipe fitters license and went on to owning and operating Herbert R. Prella Plumbing and Heating for 40 years. He retired in 1980, then went on to Noble Hospital where he�was employed for 20 years as a Plumber. Noble Hospital is where he also volunteered for 3 years as a plumber.�Herbert was a town meeting member for Precinct 5 for many years and was a member of the German Turn Verein Club in Feeding Hills. He leaves his loving wife, Irmgard (Arndt) Prella, his beloved children, Randolph G. Prella of Southwick and Linda K. Prella of West Springfield, his loving grandson, Captain Brian Prella, USAF. All services were private and the Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home was in charge of services. Donations may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church, 1552 Westfield St, West Springfield, MA.
