Obituary
Homer John Goldie, 66, passed away April 26th, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Homer was diagnosed in 2018 with Wild-Type ATTR Amyloidosis.  He was born June 13, 1952 to Catherine M. Goldie and the late Homer Goldie. Homer graduated Lisbon Central School, Lisbon, NY in 1970. He was especially proud and honored to serve his country in the United States Army in Korea during the Vietnam ERA. Homer will be remembered for his strong family values, kindness and ability to make others laugh.  He was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything, like his father.  He enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, golfing, hunting, and baking bread and other goodies for his family and friends. Homer was an honorable man, that was loved, is missed and will always be cherished. Loved ones that will miss Homer until they meet again are his wife Cindy Goldie, his son Jeffrey Ploof and his wife Cheryl, of Palmer, MA; his daughters Catherine Ploof-Dirienzo and her husband Michael of Ware, MA; Nina Moncrief and her fiancé Scott Marion of South Hadley, MA; Barbra Ann Goldie and her boyfriend Dylan Malloy of Westfield, MA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Justin, Kayla, Christian, Lauryn, Alexis, Ryley, Mia, Olivia and Dominic; brother, James Goldie; sisters, Nancy Winters, Bonnie Tokarz and Keitha Pemberton; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his emotional support dog, Chloe Lily. On May 6th, services will be held at 3pm at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Agawam, MA. All funeral services have been coordinated through Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home.
