Obituary
Irene F. (DuBois) Della Giustina, 91 passed away peacefully January 29, 2022 in her home surrounded by the love of her family. Irene was born in West Springfield, September 11, 1930 to the late George and Irene (Griffin) DuBois.  She was a graduate of West Springfield High School and a lifelong resident of West Springfield.  She was a former, longtime member of St Ann’s church and a communicant of the St Thomas the Apostle Church. She was the beloved widow of Charles Della Giustina who died in 1992. She worked for many years as a teacher’s aide in the West Springfield school system but her most cherished role was the love and care giving, she provided to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also was an avid bowler and played golf until she was 90 years young.  Above all, Irene was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.  She leaves her four children; Linda Page and her husband Rich of Stratford, CT, Kathleen Cassidy of West Springfield, Lisa Bachmann and her husband Bruce of Bonita Springs, FL, William Della Giustina and his wife Brandie of West Springfield; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  She also leaves her sister Betty DuBois of East Longmeadow, MA. Irene was predeceased by her three brothers Arthur, George and Richard DuBois, her sister-in-law, Marguerite DuBois, her brother-in-law, Robert Giustina, and her niece, Lori Gaw. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., W. Springfield from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.  A Mass of Christian burial will be at 12 noon at St. Thomas the Apostle Church followed by the burial at St. Thomas Cemetery. There will be a celebration of Irene’s life held later this summer. Memorial donations may be made to the West Springfield Boys and Girls Club, 615 Main St., W. Springfield, MA 01089.
