Irvine “Hank” H. Harnish, 82, passed away Thurs Oct. 8, 2020. He was born July 2, 1938 to the late Isabel and Leander Harnish. Hank proudly served in the US Navy. He worked as a truck driver for many years for Astro Chemical Co. before he retired. An avid golfer, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hank was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Penny (Givens) Harnish on August 11, 2020, his son Jeff Harnish in 2004 and daughter Kellie Simpson in 2014. He leaves his sons; Glenn Harnish and his wife Lisa of Agawam and Scott Harnish and his wife Holly of W. Springfield, his grandchildren; Amanda, Shawn, Lindsie, Charlene, Corey and Julia, his brothers Leslie and Dan Harnish and sisters Joyce Reynolds and Patsy Lawrence, along with many nieces and nephews. Hank was also predeceased by several of his other siblings. Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Hank’s name to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western Mass, 181 Park Ave, Suite 12, W. Springfield, MA 01089. The Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
