James A Germano

James Anthony Germano (A.K.A. Benny) 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family after suffering from severe lung pneumonia with complications. Benny was born and raised in West Springfield and was employed as a printer at Pratt & Austin in Holyoke, Ma for over 50 years and then later retired from Milton Bradley. Benny enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends and would love to pass the time by sitting on the front porch reading his newspaper enjoying a good cigar. He loved bocci ball, playing cards and bowling, he even had several bowling trophies from his younger years. He is survived by his devoted wife Rita (Roy) of nearly 50 years who never left his side and constantly showed her love and devotion throughout their years of marriage. He is also survived by his 2 children and grandchildren; his cherished daughter Maria (Germano) Teal and her husband Jason and their son Anthony James; his loving son John and his son John James; his sister Shirley Germano McKeough and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be dearly missed by his longtime friends Joe Pieciak, Ron Belden, Punky and Jimmy & Anita Vumbaco.Benny was predeceased by his parents John & Sadie (Juzba) Germano and his faithful companion, Neiko. A Funeral Home Service will be held Saturday May 31, 2025, at 10AM from the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St West Springfield. Calling hours will be Friday from 4-6PM.
