West Springfield- James D. Rainville, 86, passed away Thursday at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Toledo, Ohio to the late Catherine (Sherwin) and Edmond Rainville and has lived in West Springfield most of his life. Jim was a 1946 graduate of Commerce High School. He worked in the HVAC field, and worked for Hurley-David for many years. Jim was a member of the Mittineague Congregational Church in West Springfield. He was active at the West Springfield Senior Center in the Wood Carving Club, was a member of the Gold and Blue Ribbon Singers and he and his wife, Edna were avid Square and Round Dancers. James leaves his beloved wife of 59 years, Edna (Price) Rainville, his loving children, Nancy Demers and her husband Bruce of Bradford, VT, Linda Garcia of West Spfld. and James Rainville of Sanibel Island, FL, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. James was predeceased by his sister, Beatrice Pixley. A Committal Service will take place Wednesday 10AM at MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-6PM at the TOOMEY-O'BRIEN Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., W. Spfld. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Baystate Health Foundation 280 Chestnut St Springfield, MA 01199.
