Jay Raymond Farrell, 79, of West Springfield, MA, passed away on January 6, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, after a brief illness. Jay was born on January 18, 1945, in Springfield, MA, to the late Raymond D. and Johanna (Lakeman) Farrell. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 47 years, Linda (Bailleul); his daughter Christina Rogers and her husband Jeff of Attleboro, MA; his son Bryan Farrell of West Springfield; and his two precious grandsons, Nolan and Callen Rogers. Jay is also survived by his sister, Brenda Schlake and her husband Paul of South Lake, TX; his brother-in-law Gary Bailleul of Agawam, MA; and several cousins, a nephew and two nieces. Jay was a graduate of Springfield Trade High School. As a young man, Jay spent time in the Boy Scouts of America, earning the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. After high school, Jay served in the Air National Guard. Jay spent many years working at New England Telephone Company and then AT&T/Lucent prior to starting his own small business, West Side Wiring. Jay spent countless summers with Linda and his camping and boating family on the shores and waters of Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire; his “happy place”. Jay made many dear friends while spending his summers at the campground. Calling hours will be held from 4:00-6:00PM on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield Street West Springfield, MA followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in honor of Jay be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,
