Jean Martin Barrett Obituary

Jean Martin Barrett was born on January 13, 1929. She was happily married to Thomas Edward Barrett, Jr., who predeceased her. Jean passed on to the Lord on August 3 at the age of 97.

Jean was a woman of great faith in God, and a longtime member of two churches, Good Shepherd Episcopal in West Springfield, Massachusetts and St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The family spent many happy summers in South Wellfleet on Cape Cod.

Jean was a prolific and talented seamstress who happily spent hours at her sewing machines. She was well known for her beautiful quilts and was a member of a quilting society. She later began to sew teddy bears, even ones as large as a toddler. This gift led her to collect limited edition Steiff teddy bears and she and Thomas took a Teddy Bear Tour in Europe.

Her family includes adult children Holly Jean, Thomas Edward III, Terri Ellen Barrett, her beloved grandson Luca Barrett-DiNatale and her nieces, Sheryl Jonah and Linda Dole.
