Jean Anne (Broderick) Dunn passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the ripe old age of 90. Born in Springfield on October 7, 1935, she was the only child of the late Ernest and Mary (Dudek) Broderick.
Jean was a wife of over 50 years to the late Edward M. Dunn, who predeceased her on August 9, 2008. She was a longtime, beloved teacher in West Springfield, mostly at Mitteneague & Tatham Elementary Schools, retiring in 2003 to take on the new role as proud Grandma.
Jean enjoyed visiting local breweries and wineries to listen to music, while enjoying being with family and friends. She was a very special lady with a vivacious personality that made everyone she met fall in love with her. She made this world a better place just by living in it. She will be missed by so many people, including her daughter Theresa Dunn, son Timothy Dunn, son in law David Day, IV, granddaughter Cassidy Dunn and many nieces, nephews and more friends than anyone we know. As we say good bye to our beloved mother, we will raise a glass and say “Nice driveway.”
Family and friends may meet for Jean’s Funeral Mass on Saturday, November 29th at 10:00AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, 47 Pine St., West Springfield. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Wilbraham, MA 01104. Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
