Obituary
Jill W. (Canders) Day, 66, of Exposition Avenue passed away Saturday at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Springfield to the late Frances (Kunz) and Neil Canders. She was a graduate of West Springfield High School and lived her entire life here. She worked in housekeeping for different local nursing homes. She was the beloved fiancée to Robert Romani with whom she lived, loving mother of Heather Dion of East Harford, Stephen Day and his wife Sarah of Meriden, CT, and Brian Day of Westfield, caring sister of June Canders Cloutier and her husband Phil of Feeding Hills, and her two remaining triplet sisters, Judy Wojcik and Jan Lee Flaherty both of Westfield, she was the devoted grandmother to Austin and sister-in-law to Ann Canders. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her fiancé’s son Nick Romani in 2014 and her brother Roy Canders in 1988. There will be a Celebration of Life Service scheduled at a later date. Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with all services. In lieu of flowers donations in Jill’s name may be made to DAKIN Humane Society, 171 Union Street, Springfield, MA 01105.
