West Springfield, Joan L (Moody) Newell, 80, passed away October 21, 2026, at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Staten Island, NY, December 28, 1945, the daughter of the late Clayton and Lorraine (Summers) Moody. Joan worked for AT&T for over 25 years and later as a crossing guard in West Springfield. She leaves her beloved husband of 62 yrs, Thomas Newell, her daughter, Deborah of SC, her siblings, Lorraine Lord of West Springfield, her twin sister, Jean Kowal of Fairhaven, MA and Randy Moody of Agawam. Joan was predeceased by her son, Thomas H Newell Jr and her brothers Ronald and Robert.
