Obituary

Joanne (Takeman) Drisdelle passed away peacefully in Springfield on October 27, 2026, at the age of 87.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut, on November 14, 1938, Joanne was the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Mazzamurra) Takeman. She spent her early years in Hartford before moving to West Springfield at age 15, where she later graduated from West Springfield High School.

Joanne’s greatest joy in life was her family. She treasured the time spent with her loved ones and will be remembered for the special place her family held in her heart.

In addition to her parents, Joanne was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Donald Drisdelle, and her brothers, Jack and Tommy Takeman.

She leaves behind her loving children: John and his wife, Terri; Michael and his wife, Candy (Kantianis); and Tracy Fitzgerald and her husband, Chris. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Joelle Drisdelle, J’aime Viens, and Jillian and Ryan Fitzgerald; and her great-grandchildren, RJ Filipek and Rae Viens. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Calling hours will be 4-6pm on November 4 at Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home in West Springfield. Funeral will be November 5 at 10:30 at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 at St. Thomas Church. Committal will take place at 1:00 at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
