John M Buffum, 62, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday May 9, 2021. Born in Springfield, August 5, 1958, he was the son of the late Brainerd and Mary (Collins) Buffum. He grew up in West Springfield, was married there in 1984, and moved to Westfield in 1989. He worked for over 30 years at MassMutual, and for the last 3 years at VOYA Financial as an IT Delivery Lead. John was a quiet man dedicated to his family. He enjoyed working in the yard, doing home improvement projects and spending time at the ocean in Wells, ME. He leaves his beloved wife of 37 years, Susan (Adamcik) Buffum, his loving daughter, Kelly Buffum, his goddaughter, Emily Weeks, his brother, James T. Buffum, his sister, Ann Remillard, sister in law, Lynnmarie May and her husband Michael Fales, brother in law, Jeffrey Adamcik and his wife Michelle. A Funeral Home Service will be held Thursday May 13, 2021 at 11AM from the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St. West Springfield with a calling hour from 10-11AM. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
