John A. Dombkowski

November 2, 1961 — October 25, 2024

John Allan Dombkowski, 62, of West Springfield, died unexpectedly Friday the 25th of October. He was born in Springfield on November 2, 1961, to the late Helene (Bisinere) and Joseph Dombkowski. He lived all his life in West Springfield and was a 1980 graduate of West Springfield High School. John worked as a Production Manager for CSW Inc. in Ludlow for 45 years. He was formerly a communicant of St. Ann’s Church and most recently he was a communicant of St. Thomas Church. John enjoyed trips to Martha’s Vineyard, Fort Lauderdale, and early and leisurely Sunday drives. He was a lifelong member and former board member of the Dante Club where he spent many afternoons with friends sharing stories and making memories. Some of his most enjoyable moments were following his son Nick’s professional baseball career regardless of the distance. Spending time with his granddaughters, “his girls” brought so much joy and laughter to his life. He leaves behind his loving wife of 27 years, Susan M. (Petrick) Dombkowski, proud father of Nicholas J. Dombkowski, devoted stepfather of Robert and Meaghan Scott, caring brother of Joseph Dombkowski and his wife Cheryl of Belchertown, Barbara Dombkowski and the late Marcia Pluff (2012) of West Springfield, dotting “Papa” of Bella and Mia Oquendo. He also leaves several cousins, nieces, and nephews. There will be Calling Hours Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. There will be a public Funeral Mass 10 am Thursday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Springfield. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery.
