Obituary
John J. Lanczycki Jr., 80, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022. He was born in Lawrence, MA on January 30,1942 to the late John and Katherine (Olejasz) Lanczycki. He leaves us to join Lynn (Vickery) Lanczycki, his beloved wife of 57 years.
John graduated from St. Anselm College and received a MBA from Rivier University. His professional career focused on leading and teaching quality improvement and management training in both business and academia.
John was a man of faith, family, friends, and education. His personal joys included family celebrations, St Pope John Paul II, genealogy research, watching New England based sports teams, and traveling with Lynn to destinations around the globe.
He leaves behind his four sons; Christopher (his wife, Philippa) of Silver Spring, MD, Robert(his wife, Marianne) of Shrewsbury, NJ., John III (his wife, Melissa), of Torrington, CT., and Stephen (his wife, Nicole) of Dover, MA, his six grandchildren; Kaylee, Harrison, Emily, Robert, Rachel, and Matthew, his brother James of Somerset, MA, and sister Barbara Boothe of Savannah, GA, along with several nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his wife Lynn and siblings Joseph, Marianne (DiConza), and Richard.
A funeral mass will be held Thursday, June 9th 11:30 AM at St. Thomas Church, 47 Pine St., W. Springfield. Burial will be held Friday, June 10th 11:30 AM at St. John’s Cemetery in Schaghticoke, NY. Calling Hours will be held Thursday from 9 to 11 AM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St., W. Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John’s name may be made to St. Anselm College or the American Cancer Society
