West Springfield - John F. Lane, born June 1925 entered into eternal life on September 24, 2014 at the Soldiers Home in Holyoke. John was born in Weymouth, MA and resided in West Springfield for 58 years. As a high school graduate he served in the World War II pacific war on the USS Vincennes (CL-64) as a Seaman for the United States Navy where he earned 6 bronze medals. John worked for over 30 years for Ryerson Steel as the Western Massachusetts Salesman, where he received many awards and honors for his skilled salesmanship. He loved to golf, walk the mall and meet people. He had a great sense of humor and loved to share and hear a good joke. John was an active communicant of St Thomas the Apostle Church in West Springfield. He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa (Foley) Lane, and seven children; Diana Lane of Norton; Kathy O�Brien and husband Paul of West Springfield; John (Jay) Lane and his wife Mary Lou of North Port, FL; Edward Lane and his wife Sandra of Burke, VA; James Lane and his wife Becky of Delray Beach, FL; Maryann Lane and her companion Greg Morrison of Alexandria, VA; Mike Lane and his wife Jean of Southwick; fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren all who loved him dearly and a multitude of nieces and nephews throughout the United States. Friends are kindly invited to visit with family on Friday, September 26th from 4-7PM at Toomey & O�Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield and to join us in a 10AM Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, September 27th at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Springfield. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
