John William Leahy

John W. �Lefty� Leahy, 90, a lifelong resident of West Springfield passed away peacefully August 5, 2017 at home with his family. Born in1927 to the late Thomas and Pauline Leahy. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a machinist at Pratt and Whitney retiring in 1989. After retirement he worked part time as a bartender at Powers Caf�. He was predeceased by his wife, Eunice (Bardwell) Leahy and two siblings, Thomas Leahy and Margaret McNeil. He is survived by his two daughters, Karen Barrett (James) and Maureen Healy (Thomas) and his son, Dennis Leahy (Kathy). He leaves behind 9 grandchildren and their spouses and 5 great grandchildren. A Funeral Home Service will be held Friday at 11am from the Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St. West Springfield, with burial to follow in St Thomas Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 10-11am.
