West Springfield- John J. Negrucci, 85, of Beech Hill Road passed away Tuesday at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. He was born on January 3, 1938 in Springfield to the late Josephine (Brignoli) and John Negrucci. He spent his early years in Agawam and lived most of his life in West Springfield and was a graduate of West Spfld. High School. John worked at and later owned John L. Negrucci and Son Lathe and Plaster Contractors. He was a member and Fund Director of the Local #1 Bricklayers, Mason, and Plasterers Union in Springfield. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. John was elected to the Town Council in Agawam and served there 12 years. He was a member of the Agawam Lions Club and the Dante Club where he enjoyed playing racquetball. He also officiated High School football for years. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Cynthia A. (Bennett) Negrucci, loving father of Dawn Negrucci of Agawam, Scott Negrucci and his wife Karen of Agawam, and Leah Negrucci of West Springfield, devoted grandfather of Jessica and Rebecca Uschmann, Jamie and Tara Negrucci, and Cam and Lexi Griffin, and caring brother of Donna Neveu. He also leaves his stepmother Mary Negrucci of West Springfield. Calling hours will be Tuesday (2/28) from 11 am to 1 pm at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. A Funeral Home Service will follow at 1 pm and there will be a 2 pm Committal Service at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam.
