John P. Butler
1960-2020
Windsor Locks- John “Jack” Philip Butler, 59, passed away unexpectedly Monday at home. He was born in Springfield and lived most of his life in West Springfield. He was a 1978 graduate of Cathedral High School. Jack worked at Yale-Genton and later as a manager at Macy’s Department Store. He was formerly a communicant of St. Thomas Church. More recently he was a caretaker for his friend Joe. He would take Joe to appointments, to the gym, help him with everyday chores, and just be there for him. Jack wouldn’t hurt a soul and had a heart of gold. He was the beloved son of the late John Butler (2019) and Monica (Donnelly) Butler of West Springfield, caring brother of Patrick Butler and his wife Melanie, Paul Butler and his wife Mary, Michael Butler and his wife Michelle, Monica Butler and her boyfriend John Peterson, and Mary Fitzsimmons and her husband Mark. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and several cousins. There will be a Funeral Mass Saturday at 11 am at St. Thomas Church in West Springfield followed by a burial at St. Thomas Cemetery.
