It is with a heavy heart that the family of Joseph (Joey) LaViolette Jr., 30, of West Springfield announce his passing on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Joseph was born on August 13, 1992, in Springfield, MA. From the beginning, Joey defied the odds being born at 1lb 5oz. Joey overcame many hurdles and was able to reside at home due to the additional love and care provided by his Auntie Linda. He attended Baroco Adult Daycare. Joey loved to listen to music, especially the Lion King; and with his infectious laugh, he brought so much joy to his many friends and family. Joey leaves his parents, Joseph and Christine LaViolette and his brother Nicholas of West Springfield, grandfather, David Gonyea & Janet Richards of East Longmeadow, grandparents, Donald and Sally LaViolette of Agawam, his aunts and uncles, Linda & Steve St. Onge of West Springfield, Susan & Steve Vandal of Agawam, Donald & Susan LaViolette of Orrington, ME and Anthony LaViolette of West Springfield. Joey was predeceased by his grandmother, Marie Gonyea. There will be calling hours on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield with a Funeral service at 12:00PM. At the family’s request, burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shriners Hospital 516 Carew Street Springfield, MA 01104.
