Joyce M Giustina

Joyce Margaret (Signet) Giustina of West Springfield passed away March 10, 2024. She was born in Springfield, December 16, 1934, the daughter of the late George David and Margaret (Delaney) Signet. She lived her entire life in West Springfield. As a young girl she loved spending her summers at her aunt and uncle’s farm in West Hartland, CT. She attended local schools and graduated second in her class from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. Joyce worked as a Registered Nurse in local hospitals and nursing homes. Joyce and her husband enjoyed many summers at their camp in Monson, MA and then later on winters in their home in Ellenton, FL.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2017. She is survived by her beloved children, Mary Marsh, and her husband Lawrence; Paul Giustina; Diane Leitao and her husband Anthony; and Daniel Giustina and his fiancé Laura Theroux, all from West Springfield. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Nick Marsh and his wife Cristina, Keith Guindon, Amy Marsh & Andrew DiCarlo, and Eric Guindon and seven great grandchildren, Aiden Guindon, Brianna & Kylie Guindon, Logan & Paige Marsh, and Mason & Dylan DiCarlo. She also leaves her sister Karen LaBelle and her husband Alfred of Los Angeles, CA and sisters-in-law Carol Signet, Eleanor Giustina and Lorraine Hildebrand and her husband David. In addition to her immediate family, she leaves many loving nieces, nephews, high school & nursing school friends. She was predeceased by her sister Maureen Dion and her husband Roger, her brother David Signet, and her brother-in-law Charles Della Giustina and his wife Irene.
The calling hours will be Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 4-7 pm at the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. Please join us for the funeral Mass for Joyce at St. Thomas Church, Wednesday, March 20, 2024, 9:30 at 47 Pine St, West Springfield, followed by a burial at St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to Foundation for TJO Animals, 66 Industry Ave., Suite 3, Springfield, MA 01104. She always loved animals but especially dogs.
