Westfield -Joyce Margret (Murphy) Kane, 72, died with support from her family on January 10, 2017. She continued life after the passing of her beloved husband, Daniel P. Kane, in June 2015. They had been married for 51 years. They met at their favorite place Hampton Beach, New Hampshire were they retired and had raised all four children throughout their summers and enjoyed their six grandchildren beachside. She spent endless days reading on the beach, watching the kids play and endless days enjoying her deck and gardens. She was the oldest of two children from Springfield, MA of the late John Francis Murphy and Ruth Murphy. She attended Cathedral High School. She pursed her higher education throughout her career as she attended Springfield Technical Community College to complete her degree in Cardiac Ultrasound. She was certified at the Bethesda Maryland institution of Health in Sonography. Joyce was the head of Non-Invasive Cardiology Department at Baystate Medical Center from 1980-1990. She progressed her career to Medical West center as the Director for the remainder of her career until retirement from 1990-2001 with retirement at Hampton Beach, NH. Throughout the years, Joyce was a wonderful wife, mother, friend and sister. She was always generous of herself. Family was most important to her. Joyce's favorite words were always to include each other as it was best to give than to receive. This was noted by her actions in how she cared for her husband and raised her four children. She is survived by her daughters Kimberly A. Arnold of Westfield, Kelly M. Kane of Amherst, her son Sean M. Kane and his wife, Jennifer, of Southington, CT; her daughter Shannon J. DePodesta and her husband Michael of Southington, CT; her grandsons: Colin Arnold and his fianc� Morgan Andreski and Brendan Arnold of Westfield, Connor Kane and Aidan Kane of Southington, CT; her granddaughters Kayla DePodesta and Nicole DePodesta of Southington, CT. She also leaves behind her sister in-laws: Margret Dinneen and her husband Michael of Lowell, and sister in-law Mary Murphy and husband Gerry of Andover, sister-In law Eileen Kane of Dracut, brother-in-law Leonard Francois of Springfield, cousins of Jack and Gail Arsenault of Vernon, CT; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister to the late Rosemary Francois, the sister-in-law of the late Martha Thorburn and Joseph R. Kane. You are invited to her visitation Thursday from�4 - 7 PM AT�TOOMEY-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME,�1043 Westfield Street, W. Spfld. (413) 732-2279. Her funeral service will be Friday, 10:30 AM at the funeral home, 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 387 Chestnut St., Springfield, burial will be private.
