Joyce A. (Wood) Bannick

West Springfield- Joyce Ann (Wood) Bannick, 86 died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Joyce was born on December 14, 1930 to the late Dr. Marshall Wood and Ann (Feeney) Wood in Pittsfield. She was the youngest of two children. She graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1948 and attended secretarial school while doing some modeling. Joyce married the late Paul A. Bannick in 1954. Paul and Joyce had three children, whom Joyce raised while working at the West Springfield Public Library. Joyce retired in 1986 when her first grandchild was born. A second grandchild followed in 1991. Joyce was a loving and generous wife, mother, and grandmother. After retirement, Joyce returned to work as a receptionist for Channel 57 in Springfield. Joyce leaves behind her daughters, Lisa A. Bannick of W. Spfld., Lynne Romansky and her husband Robert of Feeding Hills, and her daughter, Lori Organ and her husband James of W. Spfld. She leaves behind two loving grandchildren, Cameron Bannick and Stephanie Spackey both of W. Spfld. She also leaves behind her adored big brother Marshall Wood of Longmeadow, and many nieces and nephews. Viewing hours will be Friday, February 24, 2017 from 4-6PM at the TOOMEY-O�BRIEN Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., W. Spfld., followed by a Funeral Home Service at 6PM. Burial will be held privately in St. Joseph�s Cemetery in Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
