Judith L. (Aronson) Dufresne

West Springfield � Judith Lydia (Aronson) Dufresne, 82, formerly of Woodmont Street, died Sunday surrounded by family. Judy leaves her husband of 61 years, Walter J. Dufresne, Jr., her six children, Maggie (Franco Amatori) of Milan, Italy, Walter, III �Trey� (Karen Balogh) of Brooklyn, NY, Christopher (Clare) of Kinvara, Ireland, Gabrielle �Gabby� of West Springfield, Lydia (Jefferson Lockwood) of Agawam, and Jamie of West Hartford, CT. Judy also leaves behind four grandchildren, Justin Lockwood, Emanuele Amatori, Stephanie and Alison Dufresne, a cherished sister, Dorothy Zukoff of Watertown, MA, a nephew, Steve Zukoff of Somerville, MA, and a niece, Donna Dufresne of Surprise, AZ. Born to Sidney and Dorothy Aronson in Parris Island, SC on January 22, 1934, she lived in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Boston where she attended school and met Walt. They were married at Fort Huachuca, AZ in 1955, and relocated the following year to West Springfield where they lived for 58 years. Judith�s greatest loves, besides watching her children and grandchildren grow, included feasting on Chinese food, books, music, movies and warm sunny weather, especially at the beaches of Manasquan, NJ, the Caribbean and Florida. Judy was deeply loved by her family and will be sorely missed. The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations in her name be made to the Community Foundation of Western MA, c/o West Springfield Public Library Capital Campaign Fund, 200 Park Street, West Springfield, MA 01089 ( http://www.wspl.org/get-involved/capital-campaign ) or the Sisters of St. Joseph Retirement Fund, 577 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104. Funeral services are private, with a Remembrance Service to be held in the Spring for family and friends. Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
