Obituary
Karen (Fitzgerald) Morrissey, 72, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center. Karen was born in Springfield on June 15, 1947, daughter to the late Patrick F. and Irene A. (Chagnon) Fitzgerald. She was a life long resident of West Springfield, attended St. Thomas School and was a graduate from Cathedral High School. Karen was the manager for SIS Bank and later retired from United Bank after 40 years of service. She was an avid Boston sports fan. She enjoyed playing scrabble, cards and was an animal lover. Karen is survived by her beloved son Jeremy Gentile, her grandsons Dylan and Brody Gentile, her brothers; Joseph Fitzgerald, Paul Fitzgerald, William Fitzgerald, Martin Fitzgerald, her sisters; Patricia Gentile, MaryAnne Fitzgerald, and Joanne Swartz. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Morrissey and her sister Denise English. Calling hours for Karen will be Friday, December 6 from 4:00-7:00PM at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street in West Springfield.
