Katherine L Lacas

Katherine “Kath” L. (Kuryn) Lacas, 78, passed away April 3, 2023, at Mercy Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Steubenville, OH, October 15, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Horshok) Kuryn. She moved to Springfield after graduating from high school where she met the love of her life, Bob Lacas. She worked several jobs such as for the West Springfield School Department. She concluded her career in the Sales Department at the Eastern States Exposition after 27 years where she formed lifelong relationships. When she was not at work she loved camping, going on cruises with friends, had a love for sewing, attending her grandchildren’s sports games/dance recitals and making her famous lasagna for her family! She is predeceased by her beloved husband Bob, who died in 2002. She leaves her loving children, Sandra Doucette and her husband Jay of West Springfield, Wendy Crosier and her husband Ed of Wesley Chapel, FL and Robert Jr. and his wife Tracy of Westfield, her beloved grandchildren, Steffanie, Mitchell, Emily, Samuel, Krystle, Roseanna and Meghan and her loving great grandchildren, Lily and Lennon. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 4-7PM at the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St. West Springfield. The committal service will be held Wednesday April 12, 2023 at 9AM at the Mass. Veterans Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-9959..
