Kathleen "Kathi" Abreu

Kathleen “Kathi” ( Daley) Abreu, 65, of Westfield, Massachusetts, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 25, 1959, in Holyoke, Massachusetts to the late Daniel and Patricia (O’Grady) Daley. Kathi was raised in Westfield where she spent most of her life. She was known for her love of baking cookies, hosting holiday gatherings for her family and friends, and cherishing time spent with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kathi was deeply committed to providing her children with the best possible life. She worked tirelessly, often holding multiple jobs at the same time, to ensure their happiness and success. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, quilting, and tending to her beautiful gardens; which became a point of admiration for all who saw them. Kathi was a loving mother to five children. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer McGowan and her partner Seamus of Torrington, Connecticut; her sons, Jeremy Goodwin and his wife Louise of Arlington, Virginia; Bradley Goodwin and his wife Vicki-Lynn of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts; Eric Abreu and his wife Tonya of Norridgewock, Maine; and her daughter Kaytlinn Abreu of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. She was the beloved grandmother of 10 amazing grandchildren and three, beautiful, great granddaughters. Kathi is also survived by her siblings, Daniel Daley and his longtime partner Theresa Vogel; Marybeth Kennedy and her husband Gregg; Maureen Thiel and her husband Doug; Terrence Daley and his wife Apryl; and Sean Daley and his wife Susan. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, whom she loved as her very own. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 5th from 4-6pm, at the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield. Kathi’s funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6th, at 11am, followed by burial at St. Thomas Cemetery.
