Obituary
Lawrence Mulcahy, 74, of West Springfield passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2022. Son of the late Bernard and Catherine Mulcahy, Larry was raised in Cohasset, MA and graduated from Cohasset High School. He was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and an avid Fighting Irish fan. After working for U.S. Customs for over 40 years, Larry retired in 2014. Larry will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Barbara, son, Michael (Gillian), daughter, Kate (Joseph) Scarbo, and his two granddaughters, Nora and Elle Mulcahy, whom he adored. Also surviving him are his sister, Maureen O’Meara, and brother, Richard. He leaves many brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Larry was predeceased by his sister, Kathleen, and brother, Bernard. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, October 1 from 9-11 am at Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine Street, West Springfield, MA. Burial will be in Quincy, MA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s memory may be made to the West Springfield Public Library, 200 Park Street, West Springfield, MA 01089.
