Obituary
Lawrence “Larry” Alden Perkins, 71, of Rogers Avenue passed away Wednesday at Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Springfield on May 27, 1949 to the late Jesse and Jessie (Hine) Perkins. He spent most of his life in West Springfield and graduated from West Springfield High School in 1968 and received a BS in Electrical Engineering from University of Hartford. He worked for Northeast Utilities, formerly Western Mass Electric Co., for 30 years as a cable splicer retiring in 2013. He was a member of I.B.E.W. Local # 7 and I.B.E.W. Local # 455, Linesman Union. He was a longtime member of Agawam Congregational Church. Larry was very active in the Freemasons and was a member of the Elm-Belcher Lodge in Agawam. He was also a member of the Kingsway Royal Arch, Springfield Council of Select Masters. Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, and visiting museums. He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Anna M. (Ravosa) Perkins, loving father of Carl A. Perkins and his wife Gail of Agawam and Cheryl A. St. Amour and her husband Paul of West Springfield. There will be a wake Wednesday from 4-7 pm with a Masonic Evergreen Service at 6:30 pm at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. Because of the Covid Epidemic we ask that everyone attending the wake please go directly to your vehicles after their visitation with the family. There will be a Funeral Home Service Thursday at 11 am followed by a burial at Agawam Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Perkins Memorial Fund c/o Agawam Congregational Church, 745 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
