Leona Severance Morgan, a longtime resident of Agawam and West Springfield, died peacefully in her home in Ellicott City, Maryland after a short illness. Leona was born in Dalton, PA and moved to Oneonta, NY as a young girl. She graduated from the State University of New York in Oneonta in 1955 and taught school in Margaretville, NY. In 1957 she married William Morgan, also from Oneonta, and they settled in West Springfield, MA. Leona taught school in Holyoke, MA for several years before staying home to raise two daughters, Lisa and Amy. Leona was an avid sewer and quiltmaker and won several ribbons at the Eastern States Exposition for her quilts. She was a longtime member of the Ramapogue Women�s Club. Her husband, William Morgan, passed away in September, 2001 and Leona stayed in Agawam until 2013, when she moved to Maryland . She is survived by daughters Lisa Morgan and Amy Ats, sons-in-law David Pomeranz and Ishvan Ats, grandchildren Michael Koltz, Daniel Pomeranz, Emma Pomeranz, and Morgan Ats.�Calling hours will be Saturday, July 5, from 11AM-1PM at TOOMEY-O�BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield, with burial at Paucatuck Cemetery immediately to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Parkinson�s Foundation.
