West Springfield- Linda Susan (Ryan) Saltmarsh, 71, of Belmont Avenue passed away Wednesday at home surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born in Springfield on August 18, 1952, to the late Marion (Kalis) and Henry Ryan. She lived most of her life in West Springfield and graduated from W. Spfld. High School and STCC, where she trained as a medical assistant. She devoted most of her work life to raising her children and supporting family, though she later became a realtor and childcare provider. She loved gardening, listening to music and cooking, especially for her family and friends. She remains the loving mother of Karen Ferrell and her husband John of Chicopee, William Saltmarsh and his wife Mary Douglas of Lawrence, KS, Kristin Pickett and her husband Christopher of Limerick, ME, and Jason Saltmarsh and his wife Hannah of Norfolk, VA. She also leaves her beloved longtime companion Frank Jazab of West Springfield and her adored grandchildren Tyler LeBlanc, Lena Saltmarsh, Abigail, Zachary, Avery, and Brady Pickett, and Juliet, Chad, and Scarlett Saltmarsh as well as her brother Richard Ryan and his wife Linda of Wilbraham. The calling hours will be Monday from 4-6 pm at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield and there will be a Funeral Home Service Tuesday at 10 am at the same location. The burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Westfield.
